Let’s make my comforting Lasagna Soup. I’m a huge lasagna fan, but I love it even more when I make it into a soup because it adds a little extra bone broth to my routine which is always great for gut health! The recipe details are below. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
1TBS olive oil
2TBS grass-fed butter
1LB spicy Italian sausage
2TBS fresh oregano, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
1TBS dried oregano
2TBS dried basil
½ tsp sea salt
½ tsp black pepper
1C pasta sauce
1TBS tomato paste
1/2C ricotta cheese
1 16.9 oz container Dr Kellyann Classic Chicken Bone Broth
4 lasagna sheets, broken
Top with: parmesan, basil
Melt butter and oil. Add spicy Italian chicken sausage, or meat of choice. Remove, set aside, then in the same pot sauté garlic with dry basil, oregano, sea salt, pepper, and fresh oregano. Add tomato paste and tomato sauce. Then add back in meat, ricotta, and bone broth, and allow this to simmer so the flavors combine. Add broken lasagna sheets (I used @jovialfoods gluten-free) and simmer until soft. Serve garnished with fix-ins of choice, I sprinkled with parmesan, ricotta, and basil. Note: To make dairy-free, sub ricotta with 5.4oz can coconut cream and use dairy-free cheese as topping, if desired.
